Behzad Mansouri M.D., Ph.D.

I finished my high school at NODET (National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talent), Tehran, Iran. I studied Medicine at TUMS (Tehran University of Medical Sciences). After finishing my return of service and working as a general practitioner in north Iran, I went to Montreal and started studying Neuroscience at the department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, McGill University. I obtained a PhD degree in 2005. The title of my thesis was "global integration of spatial and motion information in amblyopia". From 2005 to 2008 I was working as a postdoctoral fellow at the department of Ophthalmology, McGill university. The focus of my research was binocular treatment of amblyopia. We also ran a pilot study of treating amblyopia with transcranial magnetic stimulation. During both PhD and post-doctoral fellowship at MVRU (McGill Vision Research Unit) and Robert Hess lab.

Currently, I am working  as a Neurology Resident at the Health Sciences Center (HSC), University of Manitoba. I expect to finish the residency and take the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in 2012. I am very interested in hypothesis based research with clinical application. Neuro-ophthalmology is my main clinical and research area of interest.
